Turn epoch timestamps into readable dates

## **Current timestamp**

## **Timestamp to date**

**Timestamp**

Up to 10 digits are read as seconds; 11 to 13 digits as milliseconds

Local GMT

--

UTC

--

ISO 8601

## What Is the Epoch Converter?

Epoch time (UNIX time) is the number of seconds that have passed since 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970. Logs, API responses, and databases often record time this way. A value such as `**1776136652**` does not show at a glance when it happened.

This tool converts epoch seconds or milliseconds to a date, and a date to epoch seconds. `**1776136652**` is `**2026-04-14 03:17:32**` UTC, or `**12:17:32**` in UTC+9. Results show local time and UTC side by side, so you can check the value in either form. The current epoch seconds and milliseconds stay visible as well.

## How to Use

1. Enter a timestamp or a date and time.
2. Switch the timestamp unit, or the time zone for dates without an offset, if needed.
3. Copy the value you need from the results.

Results update as you type.

## Supported Formats

### Timestamps

Enter a whole number. Up to 10 digits are read as seconds, and 11 to 13 digits as milliseconds. Set the unit to seconds or milliseconds when the digit count alone is not enough.

| **Input** | **Read as** |
| --- | --- |
| `**1776136652**` | Seconds |
| `**1776136652123**` | Milliseconds |

### Dates

Accepted forms include `**2026-04-14**`, `**2026-04-14 12:17:35**`, and `**2026-04-14T12:17:35Z**`. Seconds are optional, and fractions go up to three digits. Slashes also work as date separators.

Append `**Z**` or an offset such as `**+09:00**` to pin the date to that zone. Without one, the date is read in the selected time zone (local or UTC).

### Output

A timestamp is shown as local time, UTC, and ISO 8601. A date is shown as epoch seconds, epoch milliseconds, and ISO 8601.

## Use Cases

- Checking when a timestamp in a log or API response happened
- Turning a millisecond value from `**Date.now()**` into seconds or a date
- Verifying that a value stored in a database matches the expected date
- Creating an epoch timestamp from a date for a test
