# **Text Sorter**

Sort text lines by selected criteria

## What is Text Sorter?

A tool for sorting multi-line text by a chosen criterion. Lines can be sorted alphabetically, numerically, or by length.

Descending order, duplicate removal, and whitespace or empty-line cleanup can be toggled as well, which makes it handy for organizing lists and preparing data.

## How to Use

1. Enter the text you want to sort.
2. Choose the sort method.
3. Toggle settings such as descending order or duplicate removal as needed.
4. Check the sorted text in the output area.

The result updates automatically as you change the input or settings.

## Main Settings

### Sort method

- Alphabetical
- Numerical
- By length

Choose the basis for ordering according to your content.

### Sort descending

Reverses the sort order. Useful when you want to see the largest or last values first.

### Remove duplicate lines

Collapses lines with identical content into one. Useful for cleaning up lists.

### Ignore case

Sorts alphabetically without distinguishing upper and lower case.

### Trim line whitespace

Sorts and checks duplicates using each line with leading and trailing whitespace removed. Useful for tidying up pasted lists.

### Ignore empty lines

Excludes empty lines from sorting. Makes input with missing lines or extra line breaks easier to handle.

## Things to Keep in Mind

- In numerical sorting, lines that cannot be read as numbers come last in ascending order and first in descending order
