What is QR Code Reader?

QR Code Reader is a browser-based tool for reading QR codes from a camera or an image file. You do not need to install an app, and the decoded content is shown directly in the result field.

It is useful when you want to scan a QR code with your phone or computer camera, or when you only want to inspect the contents of a saved QR code image. Processing stays in the browser.

How to Use

You can read QR codes in two ways:

  1. Scan with a camera
  2. Upload an image file

Scan with a Camera

  1. Allow camera access in the browser.
  2. Choose the camera you want to use.
  3. Start the camera and point it at the QR code.
  4. When the code is read successfully, the result is shown and the camera stops.

If your device has more than one camera, you can switch between them.

Upload an Image File

  1. Upload an image that contains a QR code.
  2. The image is analyzed automatically.
  3. The decoded result appears in the result field.

This is helpful when you want to inspect the content of a QR code from a screenshot or shared image.

Use Cases

  • Quickly scanning QR codes with a phone or PC camera
  • Checking the content of a QR code image someone sent you
  • Copying decoded URLs or text into another task
  • Verifying whether a QR code can be read correctly

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Camera scanning requires camera permission in the browser
  • Dark, blurry, or very small QR codes may fail to scan
  • Decoded URLs are shown in the result field and are not opened automatically
  • For image uploads, it is safest to use common image formats supported by the browser

Note

If camera access was blocked earlier, you can usually re-enable it from the browser's site settings.
