OGP Checker

Fetch and preview OGP information from URLs

Enter the URL to check OGP

What is OGP Checker?

OGP Checker is a tool for fetching OGP and Twitter Card metadata from a page URL and previewing how that page may appear on X and Facebook. It lists values such as og:title, og:description, and og:image, then shows share card previews when an OGP image is available.

It is useful for pre-publish checks, validating share images, and reviewing how title and description changes affect social previews.

How to Use

  1. Enter the page URL you want to inspect.
  2. Run the check.
  3. Review the extracted metadata table.
  4. If og:image is present, check the X and Facebook previews.

For X, the tool shows multiple card layouts and theme options. For Facebook, it shows both desktop and mobile-style previews.

Main Metadata You Can Inspect

  • title
  • description
  • og:title
  • og:description
  • og:site_name
  • og:url
  • og:type
  • og:image
  • og:image:width
  • og:image:height
  • og:image:alt
  • og:locale
  • twitter:card
  • twitter:site
  • twitter:creator
  • twitter:title
  • twitter:description
  • twitter:image

This makes it easier to compare the page's base metadata with its Open Graph and Twitter Card values in one place.

Reference: OGP Image Size and Aspect Ratio

If you want more consistent social preview results, it helps to start with a wide image size that works well for both X and Facebook.

  • A practical reference size is around 1200 × 630px
  • A common reference aspect ratio is 1.91:1
  • If you want to compare X large image cards and Facebook share previews side by side, this ratio is a useful baseline
  • Keeping important visual elements and text closer to the center can reduce the risk of awkward cropping

Actual rendering can still vary because of platform-side spec changes or caching, so it is best to use the preview as the final check.

Use Cases

  • Checking OGP settings before publishing a page
  • Reviewing title, description, or share image changes
  • Seeing how the same metadata may look on X and Facebook
  • Inspecting the OGP setup of another page for reference

Things to Keep in Mind

  • The tool only shows metadata that actually exists on the target page
  • A valid http or https URL is required, and inaccessible pages cannot be checked
  • Social platforms may still show older previews because of their own cache behavior
  • If og:image is missing, image-based previews cannot be shown
