What is Lorem Ipsum Generator?
Lorem Ipsum Generator creates dummy text for mockups and layout checks. It supports two languages, Latin (the classic Lorem Ipsum corpus) and Japanese, and you specify the amount in paragraphs or sentences. Results update as you change settings, so you can check spacing balance while adjusting the amount.
How to Use
- Choose a language: Latin or Japanese.
- Choose a unit: paragraphs or sentences, and set the amount.
- In paragraph mode, pick a paragraph length (short, medium, or long).
- Toggle "Start with the standard opening" and "HTML output" as needed.
- Check the generated text. Use "Regenerate" to reroll it.
- Copy the whole text or a single paragraph / sentence.
Main Settings
Language
Choose between Latin and Japanese.
- Latin: Builds English sentences from the classic Lorem Ipsum vocabulary. Good for checking Latin-alphabet fonts and layouts.
- Japanese: Combines sentences picked from public-domain openings, such as works by Natsume Sōseki and Miyazawa Kenji, and real sentences for typography checks. Good for checking Japanese fonts and line spacing.
Unit and Count
Choose whether to count the output in paragraphs or sentences. Paragraphs range from 1 to 20 and sentences from 1 to 50. When you change the count, existing paragraphs and sentences stay as they are and only the amount changes. Use "Regenerate" to reroll the text.
Paragraph Length
Available when the unit is paragraphs.
- Short: 2–3 sentences per paragraph
- Medium: 4–6 sentences per paragraph
- Long: 7–10 sentences per paragraph
Start with the Standard Opening
When enabled, the first paragraph or sentence starts with a fixed opening: the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet," line for Latin, or the well-known opening of "I Am a Cat" for Japanese.
HTML Output
When enabled, each paragraph or sentence is wrapped in <p> tags. Use this to check markup structure on the HTML side.
